My approach to bodywork

Restorative

Whole body connection

Restorative

Our nervous systems guard our traumas and tension in our bodies. In all bodywork, it is important for your body to first feel safe.

I incorporate relaxation into all of my sessions. Moving slowly, sharing breathing techniques to allow the nervous system to relax. Sometimes this is all the body needs and sometimes this is the prep work to be invited in for deeper work.

If you are looking for deep myo-fascial work, Ashiatsu and Sarga barefoot work is the way to go! My deep tissue approach involves working slow to get deep, sometimes incorporating stretching and range of motion assessments. Work is effective and productive working with your body and limitations vs against your body causing pain and further soreness.

Emotions can also play a key role in how our bodies express pain. I use yogic breathing techniques and acupressure meridian points to help address issues caused by grief, PTSD, anxiety, etc. that can be connected to sinus issues, headaches, muscle tension and more!

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally clients take everything off or leave underwear on, but it is always whatever you are comfortable with. I can work around anything! You will always be covered with a secure drape. I pride myself on my superb draping skills, even while doing stretches, I got you always covered!

Sarga-thai sessions are done fully clothed, shorts and a tank top work best for these sessions.

It depends. if your budget and schedule allows, weekly is fanatastic!

Twice a month is ideal for maintaining flexibility and managing pain.

Once a month is great for stress management and generally wellness.

I don't recommend yearly, because I believe the body, mind and spirit are collectively the foundation for a happy, healthy life and self care is not just a luxury but a necessary step in functioning physically and emotionally well in this life. Once a year is better than no massage, but regular body maintenance will help improve your life.

I always appreciate clients having an open mind to trying new things, but sometimes what I'm giving isn't feeling right or you changed your mind and that is always ok! Some days our bodies want a certain kind of treatment and the next time, it isn't into it. Totally ok! Just let me know and we can adjust, no big deal. If the pressure is too much, not enough, music isn't right, hot/cold, whatever - just let me know and 98% of the time I can make it right!
